Why modal matters!

Modal is made from pulped down beech trees, the wood is chipped and then turned into purified cellulose pulp, dissolved into a viscous liquid and then pushed through fine spinnerets into a chemical bath where it regenerates into smooth, continuous filaments.
These are then washed, stretched and finished to improve softness & colourfastness before being spun into yarn.
The result is a silky, breathable, sustainable fabric, perfect for activewear & Loungewear.
🌿 Why Modal Is Considered Eco‑Friendly
Modal is described as more sustainable because:
- Beech trees grow with no artificial irrigation.
- Many manufacturers use closed-loop systems that recover chemicals.
- The fibre is biodegradable.
It’s not perfect — it’s still a chemically processed fibre, but it’s one of the cleaner regenerated cellulose options available.
Fact: Did you know for everyone they cut down they plant 5 more!
