From yarn to texture: The slub effect!

Slub jersey is a soft, textured knit fabric made from yarn with intentional thick and thin spots (slubs). The uneven yarn creates a uniquely bumpy, breathable fabric with a casual, vintage look. It is most commonly used for relaxed T-shirts, tank tops, and lightweight sweaters.
How its made-
Slub yarn is made by deliberately disrupting the smooth, even flow of fibres during spinning. Instead of maintaining constant twist and tension, the programmed machine varies both on purpose, allowing sections of the yarn to thicken and form soft, raised slubs. These irregularities are locked in as the yarn is twisted, creating a strand with natural highs and lows. When knitted into jersey, those built‑in bumps translate into the signature textured, slightly uneven surface that gives slub fabrics their relaxed, organic character.
A simple knit with character, made to be lived in.
